Ed Uditis

Ed Uditis has dedicated his life to advancing dive education, underwater exploration, and maritime history. Born in Pennsylvania in 1946, he was introduced to scuba diving at age thirteen and quickly developed a passion for teaching and underwater discovery.

By the age of sixteen, he had already started his own scuba business and participated in challenging recovery dives. He later became a certified instructor in 1967 and played an important role in developing structured scuba training programs for marine biology students at the University of Tampa.

Uditis later co-owned Fisheye in the Cayman Islands, where he specialized in underwater photography and led dive expeditions to destinations around the world. He also played a role in introducing Nitrox diving to the Cayman Islands, helping pave the way for its acceptance throughout the Caribbean.

Through his work with underwater imaging, dive education, and maritime history organizations, Ed Uditis has contributed significantly to the advancement of diving and the preservation of its heritage.
